Small and medium is coupes, hatches, sedans, single cabs and compact SUVs. Large is SUVs and dual cabs. A coating is a clear liquid polymer. Once it cures it bonds to the clear coat, hardens that surface, lifts the gloss, and makes the car easier to wash.

    A 5 year ceramic coating using Gtechniq CSL. The liquid bonds to the clear coat as it cures, hardens that surface, lifts the gloss, protects the paint from the weather, and makes the car much easier to wash.

Nano ceramic tint starts at $450 when it is added to a coating package. Paint protection film kits and front ends, and vinyl colour changes, chrome deletes and decals, can be quoted with the coating. Bikes, boats and caravans are a custom quote.

The service

What it is,
and how it cures.

What it is

A clear liquid polymer on the paint. When it cures it forms a chemical bond with the factory paint and turns the clear coat into a much harder, clear shield.

How it works

That layer lifts the gloss and stands between the paint and the weather. Dirt and water sit on the shield, which is why a coated car takes less time to wash and less polishing to keep.

How long it lasts

Paint coatings are published at 5, 7 or 9 years. On the full exterior package, glass, wheels and plastics are 2 years. The coating also helps the car hold its value, provided the aftercare you are given on the day is followed.

  • Gtechniq Ultra

    The 9 year paint coating. Studio only. Upgrading a complete package to this coating is +$500, or +$400 on the tint-and-coating bundle.

  • Other surfaces

    Gtechniq Smart Glass, Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour, Gtechniq C4 trim restorer, Gyeon LeatherShield and Gtechniq Smart Fabric. Each one is its own product, with its own lifespan.

Warranty

Cover that
is already published.

The paint warranty is 5, 7 or 9 years, matching the coating you book. It covers UV damage, water spotting, bird droppings, tree sap, industrial fallout and weather erosion.

If those show up inside the term, the studio repairs and recoats the affected areas at no cost, provided the aftercare from the day has been followed.

Glass, wheels and plastics on the full exterior package are published as 2 years. Fabric on the interior package is published as 1.5 years.

Process

From drop-off
to the next morning.

  1. 01

    Book the coating

    Name the year, and whether glass, wheels or the cabin are included.

  2. 02

    Prepare the paint

    Wash, a decontamination soak, clay, then correction so the coat bonds to a flat surface.

  3. 03

    Apply and cure

    The coating goes on in the studio. The car stays at least 12 hours, usually overnight, before it is driven in sun or rain.

  4. 04

    Collect it

    Most cars are dropped in the morning and collected the next morning or afternoon. A full interior and exterior package is about 48 hours.

FAQs

Before the
coat cures.

What the coating is, how long the car stays, and what it will not stop.

  • Will it stop stone chips and swirls?

    No. The coat is a sacrificial layer. It lowers the chance of light marks compared with bare paint. It does not stop chips. That is what paint protection film is for.

  • How long does the car stay?

    Preparation and application take about one to two days, depending on the package. The car then stays at least 12 hours so the coat can harden. You do not leave it for several extra days.

  • How do I wash it afterwards?

    Use a pH-neutral shampoo and a soft mitt. Skip automatic and brush washes. The studio recommends GYEON Q2M Bathe+, or a booster, to keep the water beading.

  • Can you coat a bike, boat or caravan?

    Yes, as a custom quote. Those are not priced on the car packages above.
