The service
What it is, and how long it holds.
What it is
Detailing covers the wash, the interior, and, where the package says so, a machine polish. Paint
correction removes swirls, light scratches, water spots and other marks in the clear coat by polishing in
stages, so the paint looks as it did when it left the showroom.
How it works
A Rupes BigFoot, Lake Country pads and Sonax compounds do the cutting. A heavier pad takes the marks out.
A finishing pad brings the gloss back. A scratch that has gone through the clear coat into the paint will
not polish out. Before the job starts, the car is walked over so you know which marks will go.
How long it lasts
A wash is a refresh. Correction stays until new marks go into the paint. The ceramic wax package is
published at 12 months or more. Ceramic coatings, on their own page, are the longer protection.

Before any cutting, the clear coat is measured and the condition is photographed. Thin paint is not
cut.

How do I look after the car?
Ask the studio before the first wash. They will tell you what can go on the paint, and what to leave
alone.
What should I not book as a detail?
Overspray and sign removal are quote-only. So is work on anything that is not a car package on this page.

What can go wrong with correction?
Correction removes a thin layer of clear coat to level swirls. If the paint reading is thin, the work
stops and the studio talks to you before any pad goes on.
